Mother's Day Ideas for Students

Mother's Day is next Sunday and this year, more than ever, all Mother's everywhere need to be celebrated.

For mothers with children at home you have added a new role to your many responsibilities.  You are now a home school teacher.  Every mother knows that your beautiful children show you the best and worst of themselves and you may have seen the worst of them during this time of distance learning.

And yet, you have not given up.

You can't give up because this is an unprecedented time in our lives, hopefully to only happen once.  Your children may be confused, scared, off their schedule and a bit unruly.  They need you to instill calm, structure and kindness during this time.  Distance learning offers the opportunity for you to demonstrate this to the people you cherish most in the world; your children.

Mothers who are grandparents must also be remembered at this time.  Their parenting is complete and now they should be able to enjoy being a grandparent. Sadly, this virus is keeping them away from their beloved children and grandchildren.

Unfortunately, this year elementary students will not be coming home with those cute and cherished Mother's Day gifts from school.  Most stores are closed, so purchasing Mother's Day gifts could be difficult.  Besides, moms need a pick-me-up this year.  Why not create something original that tells mom how valuable they are to your family.

Go to this link, to find some great Mother's Day activities that any mom would love to receive.

To all the mothers out there,

Teachers everywhere want to thank you for persevering during this time of distance learning.  We are creating and forwarding the activities but we are counting on the families out there to facilitate the learning at home.  Keep up the good work and do not hesitate to reach out to your child's teacher when you need help.  Teachers would love to hear from you because we miss our students and miss teaching and learning with them.
